We are one of the three subsects of the Komati caste, the other two being Arya Vysya and Thrivarnika. We are called Gomati/Gomti as many of us live on the banks of the Godavari. Our community is primarily found in north coastal Andhra Pradesh and also in Srikakulam and Vijayanagaram districts.
